Miriam Yarimi, the 32-year-old driver of the car that ran over and killed Sarah Natasha Saada, 35, a Haredi from the Syrian community in Flatbush, and her two daughters - Deborah Mazal, 5, and Dina Bracha, 8, - on Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, was charged in a speeding case with three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of criminally negligent homicide, and several other charges related to speeding and failure to yield the right-of-way at a red light.

The condition of the 4-year-old boy Rafael Pinchas, who was run over, is described as critical and he is hospitalized.

Yarimi claims that "I was possessed.".

But contrary to the driver's claim that she was "possessed," Jessica Tisch, the New York Police Department's chief of police, said: "This is an inexcusable incident. A person who was not supposed to be on the road took the lives of three innocent people.".

Sarah and her two daughters, the wife and two daughters of Governor Rabbi Sidney Saada, were flown - after a funeral filled with grief - to be buried on Mount Hamunuchot.

According to the police statement, the accident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. (local time), when an Audi driven by Yarimi collided with a Toyota in front of it. As a result of the collision, the Audi overturned and hit a family crossing the road. Both drivers were slightly injured, as were an elderly man and three children who were traveling in the Toyota.

The police also reported that the driver, Miriam Yarimi, was driving the vehicle even though her license was suspended.

Eyewitnesses said that when the vehicle overturned, it was lifted into the air. She was rescued in stable condition and taken to the hospital.
