The prices of controlled milk are expected to increase by 1.4% starting in May.

According to a report today (Sunday) by Dana Yarkachi in 'Kan News', this increase comes - according to estimates - following increases in the target price for dairy farmers due to the drought and the costs of grain for the animals.

During the month, the Ministry of Finance's price committee is expected to convene and make a decision on the matter.

The last time the price of regulated dairy products increased was in May of last year, when the increase was 4.5 percent.

The reason for the price increase at the time was: the increase in price indices and a previous agreement between the farmers and the Ministries of Agriculture and Finance, regarding the distribution of the previous price increase.
