''And you shall put away evil from among you''Jerusalem District Police have recently completed the investigation of a resident of Beit Shemesh, on suspicion of committing serious crimes against a 14-year-old boy. Some of the serious incidents occurred in a mikveh in the city and in the bathroom of a synagogue building.

An indictment is expected in the coming days against a person under the supervision of the Israeli Prison Service, a resident of Beit Shemesh in his 50s, who was recently arrested by police officers from the Beit Shemesh police station, on suspicion of committing serious offenses against a teenager on several different occasions, while in most cases 'taking advantage' of their presence and stay in a mikveh and synagogue.

On the evening of March 8, a complaint was received at the police station in the city of Beit Shemesh, and immediately upon receipt, police investigators began professional and diverse actions with the aim of reaching the truth and bringing the suspect, who was arrested at the time, to justice.

As part of the investigation, it was learned that over the past year, the suspect met the boy by chance in a mikveh in one of the city's neighborhoods. At one point, while they were naked in the mikveh pit, the suspect committed a serious act and later led the boy by deception to a nearby toilet stall, where he committed serious acts against him. These acts were repeated more than once on additional occasions, with police investigators assessing that the suspect took advantage of the boy's fear of him.

In addition, it was learned that the suspect was not 'satisfied' with his serious actions in these places, and followed the boy morning, noon and evening, as he went to and from his educational institution and his activities, offering him a ride while leaving him a note each time with his cell phone number in order to arrange a meeting. The anxious boy would immediately throw away the note after the suspect walked away without looking inside. However, in one case, the victim cleverly obtained the suspect's phone number on his own initiative, in order to expose the serious incidents that had occurred.

It was also learned that on several occasions the suspect managed to harm the young victim in restrooms at nearby synagogues.

The day after the suspect's arrest, he was brought before a court that granted the request and ordered an extension of his detention in order to complete the necessary actions.

In recent days, as mentioned, investigators at the Beit Shemesh station completed these and a prosecutor's statement was submitted on behalf of the Jerusalem Prosecutor's Office regarding the intention to file an indictment against him in the coming days. His detention has been extended until this coming Wednesday.
