Former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in an interview with Roni Koban on the program 'Meeting with Roni Koban' on 'Kan News', referred to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and attacked him with harsh words.

Olmert claimed that Netanyahu built a public and political career while taking advantage of being a bereaved brother.

""I don't like to talk about him. I don't like him. I think he's not a good man, that he's not a good person, that he's an empty person. Nothing, there's nothing, inside there's nothing, just me, just himself," Olmert said in an interview.

Referring to Yoni Netanyahu's fall, Olmert added: "He has been wounded since his brother was killed, and the Netanyahu family has made sure to turn his brother's body into a platform on which to build a public and political career, without hesitation throughout the years and for attack and defense as necessary, to this day.".

Olmert added: "In every discussion, every issue, every event, in all of this, I am a bereaved brother, a bereaved family, and all sorts of other things. It's even more terrible that this matter is being turned into a platform to politically attack, to politically defend oneself, to politically win. All sorts of things that don't go along with the things that I consider to be values.".

Benjamin Netanyahu's office responded: "There is no bottom that the released prisoner Ehud Olmert won't descend to in order to grab headlines. Whoever handed Abu Mazen Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria on a silver platter, and asked to establish Hamastan in the heart of Israel, now dares to cynically attack an entire bereaved family. Shame on him.".

Otzma Yehudit Chairman, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir, responded: "Prisoner number 9032478, take your hands off the hero of Israel, Yoni Netanyahu, and the rest of Israel's fighters and heroes! You have no right to even mention their names - they gave their lives for the country, while you abandoned it and continue to abandon it!".
