She took advantage of his kindness: An indictment was filed today (Tuesday) against a 36-year-old Tiberias resident who asked her neighbor for financial assistance following the death of a family member, and when he left his house to get money for her, she broke in and stole property from him.

The investigation began after receiving several reports from Tiberias residents that their homes had been broken into while they were not present and a large amount of property had been stolen. A few days later, a resident of the city was arrested on suspicion of being connected to three outbreaks near her neighborhood.

During the investigation, it emerged that in one case, the defendant turned to a neighbor and asked him for financial assistance due to the death of a family member. "Following her request, the neighbor went out to spend money for her without locking the door of his house. When he returned to the scene, he gave the defendant 100 NIS as a donation, and then when he entered his house, he discovered that while he was not there, they had entered his house and stolen a large amount of property, including a laptop worth thousands of shekels," the police said.

The investigators were also able to link the defendant to two additional cases - in which the defendant broke into residential homes, and in one of them the defendant was caught by the apartment owners inside the house while stealing property from them.

Upon completion of the investigation phase, the Tiberias Prosecution Branch filed an indictment and a request to detain the defendant until the end of the legal proceedings at the Tiberias Magistrate's Court.
