The Arabic-language Ski Channel reported today (Thursday) an Israeli attack on the airport in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen.
Air Force planes disabled the airport by hitting the runway control tower and putting critical operational infrastructure out of use. Planes also caught fire.
At the same time, attacks were also reported on the port of Al-Hodeidah in the west of the country. This was an extensive attack in several waves and centers.
According to Al-Arabiya, seven attacks were carried out in Sanaa and three in Hodeidah. Foreign networks reported that the airport terminal in the Yemeni capital was on fire. The Saudi Al-Hadath channel later reported that the port in Hodeidah was also attacked, as well as energy and oil stations.
The Houthi-owned Al-Masira channel reported that Israeli Air Force jets also attacked oil facilities in the country.
An Israeli source confirmed to Sky News in Arabic: "We attacked the international airport in Sanaa.".
The attacks, which are part of what the defense establishment calls "the opening of a prolonged campaign," are aimed at a series of strategic targets with the aim of disrupting the Houthis' operational and logistical capabilities.

The spokesman for the Houthis in Yemen, Muhammad Abdel Salam, in his first comment on the Israeli attacks: "The attack on Sana'a International Airport and other civilian infrastructure is a Zionist crime against the entire Yemeni people, and this is the policy of this criminal enemy that killed millions of the Palestinian people and committed 'genocide' in Gaza. If the Zionist enemy thinks that its crimes will prevent Yemen from supporting Gaza, then he is delusional. Yemen will not abandon its religious and humanitarian principles.".
The attack coincided with a speech by the leader of the Houthi rebels, Abdel-Malik al-Houthi. "The Israeli media is talking about a week without sleep. This is a new frustration among the Israelis, who launched the hypersonic missiles at night and often very late at night or early in the morning. When there are alarms, millions flee from the homes they occupy and their cities to shelters," he boasted.
He added: "The Israeli deterrent has failed against our country, despite the attacks that hit civilian facilities in Sana'a and Hodeidah. The Israeli enemy is aware that our operations are ongoing, effective and influential. Our missiles, which the air defense system failed to intercept, have caused great frustration among political and security officials in Israel and the US.".
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last night at the lighting of the first candle of Hanukkah: "The Houthis will also learn what Hamas and Hezbollah and the Assad regime and others learned, and even if it takes time, this lesson will be learned throughout the Middle East. I tell you, in those days at this time.".
