For the second time in a row: The price of a liter of 95 gasoline will be updated at midnight on Saturday night and will stand at 7.29 in September - a decrease of 19 agorot from its current price. This was announced today (Thursday) by the Fuel and Gas Administration at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure.
The maximum price per liter of unleaded 95 octane gasoline for the consumer at a self-service station (including VAT) will not exceed 7.29 NIS per liter, a decrease of 19 Agorats from the previous update. The surcharge for full service will be 24 Agorats per liter (including VAT), an increase of 2 Agorats from the previous update.
The Director of the Fuel Administration at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure publishes the price of 95 RON gasoline at the station for the following month at the end of each month, in accordance with the formula established in the Order for the Supervision of Prices of Commodities and Services.
According to the order, the price of gasoline at the station is based on the average of fuel prices in the Mediterranean Basin over five trading days, preceding the last two working days of each month.
In addition, the price includes a basket of marketing expenses, excise tax and value added tax. The translation into NIS is carried out according to the last representative exchange rate published by the Bank of Israel before the last two working days of each month.
The Order on Prices of Goods and Services (Maximum Prices at Gas Stations) stipulates that the full service surcharge will be updated, in accordance with the minimum wage in the economy, every six months in March and September. Since the minimum wage was updated on April 1, 2024, the surcharge will also be updated starting in September.
