An indictment was filed yesterday (Tuesday) against a 19-year-old soldier from Ramla and her partner, a 21-year-old resident of the Karni Shomron settlement - after they smuggled dozens of Shabhim and assisted them in infiltrating Israeli territory.

Among the Shabats the two brought in was a terrorist who had previously been in prison and was released in the 'Shalit deal'.

On one occasion, the soldier even drove the IDF soldiers while wearing an IDF uniform. In return, she charged them between 200 and 400 shekels.

The serious indictment includes 27 counts.

At the relevant times for the indictment, the State of Israel was in a state of war and a closure was imposed on the Judea and Samaria region.

According to the indictment, the soldier worked in a restaurant in Rishon LeZion and together with her he worked in the restaurant as a cook, a resident of Judea and Samaria - an illegal resident in the State of Israel. As part of their work, the defendant began driving him from his home in a village in Judea and Samaria to the restaurant and back to his home.

The murderer then offered the soldier a chance to join him in carrying out a criminal plan: transporting and smuggling illegal immigrants into the territory of the State of Israel in exchange for money. The soldier agreed to his offer in exchange for a pre-agreed amount of money.

Later, her partner was added to the planning and implementation of the program.

In order to carry out the plan, the defendant and her partner agreed with the IDF soldiers on a meeting point with them, along with the transportation date and the destination they were to reach. According to the investigators' estimate, the soldier and her partner earned tens of thousands of shekels from the smuggling.

Thus, over the course of about 30 incidents, the defendants - together or separately - drove dozens of illegal residents from the dirt path near the Sonol Beit Horon gas station on Highway 443 and brought them through the Maccabim crossing into the territory of the State of Israel.

When they passed through the aisle, the defendant would place his hand on the back of the defendant's seat to hide the illegal occupants who were hiding in the back seat.

Investigative and intelligence activities by the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Jerusalem Border Police led Border Police soldiers to arrest the two defendants in the act about two and a half weeks ago - when they tried to once again smuggle illegal residents into the country through the Maccabim crossing.

With the filing of the indictment and a request for detention until the end of the legal proceedings against the two, the two vehicles that the defendants used to transport the IDF and cash were also confiscated.

Border Guard Commander, Superintendent Brick Yitzhak: "Professional, determined, and smart activity by our forces led to the arrest of the defendants, thereby halting their activity to introduce illegal residents into the country's territory. Today, more than ever, we understand that we must act tirelessly against their entry into the country's territory.".
