Musician Hanan Ben Ari addressed his Instagram account today (Tuesday) with a direct appeal to his "ultra-Orthodox brothers" - and wondered whether there was a possibility of communication to promote the recruitment of members of the Haredi yeshiva.
""My Haredi brothers, I write to you honestly and painfully without intermediaries and without going through politicians and businessmen. I love you, know and appreciate many of you personally. I also know that more and more Haredi are enlisting, and many who do not enlist do serve Israeli society in a variety of ways," Ben Ari wrote.
Against the backdrop of the fact that the army has been taken over by progressive views, he added: "I also understand your fear of having a culture foreign to you and your education imposed on you. Really. But we owe you. This is a true alarm.
""The blood of our brothers and sisters cries out to us from the ground. The people of Israel are in trouble, and in addition to study and prayers, tens of thousands of more soldiers need to be mobilized in order not to collapse militarily and economically," Ben Ari notes.
In his appeal, he asks: "I know you love Israel, so tell me: What needs to happen for you to enlist in the war effort of the people of Israel? What are the solutions? What can create trust? I don't believe in coercion of any kind, but is there anyone to talk to and about? Please, we need you.".
Haredim 10 reporter notes that there is no known publication of an identical letter to thousands of secular evasions.
