A significant underground route in eastern Rafah was destroyed; fighters from the 401st Brigade Combat Team under the 162nd Division destroyed a one-and-a-half-kilometer-long underground route with dozens of anti-tank missiles and weapons
In recent weeks, fighters from the 401st Special Operations Command, in cooperation with the Yahalam and 504th Special Operations Command units, have been operating under the 162nd Division in eastern Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip with the aim of locating terrorist infrastructure and underground routes.
So far, during the fighters' activities, many terrorists have been eliminated and dozens of Hamas terror infrastructures have been destroyed.
Under intelligence guidance, the forces reached a tunnel shaft located 100 meters from the Rafah Crossing. The shaft led to an underground route that was used by the Hamas terrorist organization to carry out attacks and defensive activities against our forces.
The route splits into several different sections and at different depths. The entire route is one and a half kilometers long and contains several top gates.
The raid found numerous weapons, short-range anti-tank missiles, Kalashnikovs, explosive charges and grenades. The route contains a living space, toilets and additional rooms. All the shelters and compounds were destroyed.
