Alma Avraham, who was released from Hamas captivity and evacuated to Soroka in serious condition, is being released from the hospital after five months of hospitalization.

Two months ago, Avraham celebrated her 85th birthday in the hospital's rehabilitation department.

Alma was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nahal Oz and held captive for 51 days.

Upon her return to Israel, she was rushed to the trauma room at Soroka Hospital in very serious condition. She was in immediate danger - and the doctors fought for her life.

Since then, her condition has improved significantly.

Avraham was kidnapped from her home in Nahal Oz on the morning of the holiday, while she was home alone. Her family found out about her kidnapping after being exposed to footage of her in Gaza, riding a motorcycle with another woman, while armed terrorists held them.

Her son, Uri Ravitz, woke up to the alarms on the morning of the holiday in his apartment in Tel Aviv, realized that his mother was probably in danger due to the massive rocket fire, and called her: "She said they were in the military barracks and were instructed not to go out, she was alone. My brother was on the kibbutz but was in his room, and she couldn't talk to him. She told me there was an infiltration in Sderot, it took me a while to understand that she was saying 'there are terrorists here too'.".

After long hours of uncertainty, Uri managed to contact his brother who lives on the kibbutz, and the brother went out, accompanied by soldiers, to their mother's house. "He found a broken-in house, turned upside down. The company headquarters was open, her bed was turned upside down - and my mother was gone.".
