New record in credit spending in March: How many billions did Israelis spend on purchases?

Further increase in credit expenses: Data from the Sheba Company - developer and administrator of the national credit card payment system - shows that during March 2024, the sixth month of the 'Iron Swords' War, there was a new monthly spending record among the Israeli public.

Business activity in the economy continued its growth trend, leading to the volume of monthly credit card spending breaking the previous record recorded in August 2023.

During March 2024, the Israeli public's spending using credit cards reached a total of 42.407 billion shekels.

This is an increase of 1.075 billion shekels and 2.61% compared to March 2023, when total credit expenses stood at 41.333 billion shekels.

The average daily spending amount in March 2024 was 1.368 billion shekels, which was 31.3% and 40 million shekels higher than the average daily amount in February 2023, which was 1.328 billion shekels.

The monthly spending volume in March 2024 constitutes a new monthly record in spending volume compared to the previous record in August 2023, in which total spending reached 42.354 billion shekels, an increase of 1.31%.

The average daily spending recorded in August 2023 was 1.363 billion shekels.
