Social media reported that the terrorists who were eliminated were Hamada Barakat, known as Abu al-Hani, who, according to security forces, was one of the perpetrators of the attack in Hermesh in May of last year, in which Meir Tamri was murdered.

Muhammad Hawashin, the commander of the GAP's terrorist infrastructure in Jenin, was also attacked, along with two other terrorists, who according to social media are claimed to be Muhammad al-Fayed and Mahmoud Rahal, known as Mario.

According to Palestinian reports, the terrorists were killed in an attack on two vehicles inside the refugee camp.

The attack was carried out using an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Kan News reported that, unlike most airstrikes in Judea and Samaria, the assassination was not carried out by a Zik drone, but by a Kochav drone.

The terrorists who were eliminated had been in the security forces' sights for a long time. They had carried out numerous shooting attacks in the past and were about to carry out an attack in the immediate future. They lived in the Jenin refugee camp and had no clear organizational affiliation.

The IDF and the Shin Bet announced that "an Air Force aircraft attacked a vehicle carrying two senior GAP terrorists in the Jenin area. The attack eliminated Ahmed Barakat, who carried out the shooting attack in Hermesh in May 2023, in which the late Meir Tamri was murdered, and also attacked Muhammad Hawashin, the commander of the GAP's terrorist infrastructure in Jenin, along with two other terrorists.".

The IDF emphasizes that "the two terrorists who were attacked have also recently promoted significant terrorist acts and attacks against Israeli citizens.".

The IDF added that "the two were behind the attempt to insert a terrorist into Israel that was foiled on March 11, and they orchestrated the IED attack carried out against IDF forces on March 8, during which seven soldiers were injured in the Homesh Junction area.".

""The IDF and Shin Bet will continue to work to remove any threat and thwart terrorist infrastructures that are working to carry out murderous attacks, and will also take into account those that will harm Israeli citizens.".
