Avida Bachar, a resident of Kibbutz Be'eri who lost his wife and son, called today (Thursday), in an interview with 103FM radio, for the deportation of residents of the Gaza Strip.
At the beginning of the interview, he talked about his rehabilitation from the injury on October 7: "I was on two, but very quickly they took one off, but right now I'm wearing the prosthesis. A transformer.".
""It's starting to understand that you're walking on something that's not natural, but you believe that it will very soon become natural and part of life. It's a tough event. Right leg above the knee, left leg shot, in the final stages of closing. The prosthesis right now is something that's amazing, the technologies are amazing. Electronic knees, they teach you, you slowly learn to use them, an app for everything, and you start to master walking and get used to it. We train for four months on just one leg, and suddenly you get your balance back, so yes, it's tough.".
Bachar spoke about his bicycle, which was found in the Gaza Strip: "They didn't find the kidnapped people in Gaza, they found my bicycle. Bicycles like the ones I had don't belong to anyone from Gaza, so they quickly brought them to 'Madwash', a large bicycle shop, and they know the bicycles there and brought them to me. Apart from a flat tire, they came back in good condition.".
He said about his condition and that of his daughter: "I'm fine, in rehabilitation. Gets up to exercise every morning, some occupational therapy, just fine. Hadar is excellent, in the hotel, a lot of scars on her leg, but she's back to herself, at least physically, she's running with her friends. Simply amazing. They opened schools for them in Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea, the truth is that my daughter is not going to school right now, she's finding other things to do right now. I hope she'll return to school soon, to her school routine, her friends.".
Bakr also spoke about the campaign in the Gaza Strip, because he has "a lot of frustration. You understand that this war, at least as I understand it from the outside, has no strategy. There's nothing in it where you say 'we want to really clean up the Strip,' you see on TV today that Hamas is taking over the northern Strip. Everyone needs to be kicked out of there, these are neighbors we can't tolerate anymore. These neighbors, maybe in South Africa they should create a Palestinian state, but certainly not here. I will help them.
""There is a final solution in all sorts of ways, exile is also a solution. The State of Israel must encourage immigration, decide that there is nothing there, it must, otherwise its right to exist is in the dark. Deport them physically, so that there will be no one there.".
Presenter Yinon Magal responded to Bachar and told him that in the event of such a step, the whole world would be against Israel.
Bachar replied: "But if it were the other way around, then these 2.5 million people would kill 10 million people in a second. This is hypocrisy on the part of the world, and we must be very, very determined about this, because if Israel broadcasts that we are going for a solution of exile or extermination, in the end the world will not let that happen and another solution will be found.".
""If we had killed 800,000 on the second day of the war, it would have looked different, obviously. I'm very frustrated. I think many people on the kibbutz also think like me, some will not return to the kibbutz, even though this place is paradise. We want to return there, we just need the army to do the work and the state to adopt a strategy and not conduct tactics through this or that window.".
When asked if he believes in the goal of the war to dismantle Hamas and demilitarize the Strip, he said: "I don't believe that, I believe that those in the Gaza Strip will not become Zionists and will probably always want to destroy me. If there is one thing in the Bible that says, whoever comes to kill you, kill him early. We will be kidnapped, and if it's not good for us today, it's probably not bad enough for us, so it will be even worse later. I think we can't blink.
""All Arab countries look at Gaza, Judea and Samaria look at Gaza and see how Israel is acting there. We must not blink. We talked about the Strip, we did not talk about the Arabs of Israel. Regarding Gaza, I am tougher than Ben Gvir. I am still on the left side of politics.".
