A turn in the Hasidic courtyard: The Rebbe of Belza ordered the establishment of an organization called 'Love of the Ancients', which will assist those who have abandoned the path of Hasidism.
According to a report by Yoeli Barim on Galei Tzahal, the background to the organization is a tragedy that befell Belza six months ago, when a member of a Hasidic family who had gone out on a pilgrimage took his own life at the age of 23 - a disaster that, according to one of those close to the Rebbe's family, shook him and led him to understand that it is no longer possible to be disconnected from those who go out on a pilgrimage.
The establishment of the organization was not intended to convert them, but to acknowledge their existence and bring them closer.
""They studied in Hasidic institutions throughout their lives, even though they decided not to keep Torah and mitzvot, we must continue to care for them and embrace them, without any conditions," says a senior official who was part of the organizers of the process.
The move included a very secret gathering that took place abroad, together with about thirty "exiting Hasids," in an initiative aimed at forming a "group of expats" who would become a kind of family and, of course, would reconnect with their families - all of this fully funded by the Belz Hasidic movement.
According to the report, those 'asking for leave' received a sponsored trip to European countries, some with their spouses. "We received a real hug, it feels like a dream," they were quoted as saying in the Galatians.
It should be noted that for years there have been organizations in the Haredi community that operate among those who "come out of the question" and "drop outs." However, the novelty this time is that a court leader is providing sponsorship for the movement.
