Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu is responding to the accusations made today (Monday) by senior members of the Left Bloc at the faction meetings in the Knesset.
""The outgoing government, which has lost the people's trust, is not ready to accept the election results. It has embarked on a campaign of false intimidation and rebellion against the government led by Netanyahu, which received a clear mandate from the people to implement right-wing policies," a post on Netanyahu's Facebook page read.
""The elected government's policy includes important reforms and initiatives such as restoring personal security to Israeli citizens, strengthening Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, strengthening governance, and strengthening settlement in Judea and Samaria. This policy does not include any harm to the rights of LGBT people, the secular public, or any citizens in the State of Israel.".
The post also said: "Netanyahu led the State of Israel to great achievements - avoided unnecessary wars, preserved democracy, brought millions of vaccines, fought Iran and brought 4 historic peace agreements.
""Prime Minister-designate Netanyahu is the one who will lead the government responsibly with both hands on the wheel, while fully safeguarding the rights of all Israeli citizens - Jews and non-Jews, religious and secular, LGBTQ and minorities.".
On the false reports that the Ministry of Education will be transferred to Avi Maoz: "The Ministry of Education will continue to determine the curriculum. Avi Maoz will only deal with external engagements of the Ministry of Education, which constitute approximately 21% of the education budget (for example, stopping state funding for organizations against Zionism and IDF soldiers, such as 'Breaking the Silence'). Maoz will operate under Prime Minister Netanyahu, in whose office he serves as a deputy minister.".
Regarding the announcement that "the Defense Ministry will be dissolved," the response was: "The Civil Administration constitutes less than one thousandth of a percent of the Defense Ministry - and it will remain in the Defense Ministry. The decisions of the Minister of 'Religious Zionism' who will serve in the Defense Ministry will be made in coordination with Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Defense Minister.".
On the supposed lie that "the government will harm LGBT people" - he responded: "We will maintain the status quo in matters of religion and state. We will preserve the rights of members of the LGBT community and all citizens of Israel.".
Regarding reforms in the justice system, it is written: "Most Israeli citizens know that the law enforcement system needs reforms to ensure the rule of law and restore the proper balance between the three branches of government as is customary in all democracies.".
At the party, Netanyahu presents a reassuring message to Likud members: "The Likud will receive a wealth of portfolios: the ministries of defense, foreign affairs, education, transportation, energy, tourism, economy, environmental protection, intelligence, communications, regional cooperation, gender equality, culture and sports, diaspora, science, technology and innovation, and more, including the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee and the Speaker of the Knesset.".
Regarding the supposedly false statement "it has never taken so long to form a government" - the post said: "A lie. Just recently, the outgoing government took 38 days to form a government, more or less the time it is expected for a right-wing government to be formed.".
Netanyahu accuses: "The outgoing government does not accept the election results and incites with lies against the elected government that won the people's trust. Unlike the outgoing government, even when Bennett and Lapid formed a government that depends on the Muslim Brotherhood, which denies the existence of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, we did not act like that.".
