Raziel's friends, who came this morning (Thursday) to pray there, said that they were also attacked.
Following the vandalism, the widow Yael Shevah arrived at the memorial, along with the head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan.
Rabbi Raziel Shevach was murdered in a terrorist attack near Havat Gilad, his home community, in 2018.
Yael Shevach, Rabbi Raziel's widow, said: "We woke up this morning and discovered the monument completely desecrated. Something had sprayed it with red paint that was hard to ignore, the feeling of the paint dripping down and giving a feeling of blood. A feeling that brings back all the events of the past.".
""With all this and all the pain, we remember that we are still here and will continue to be here without fear," Yael emphasized. "We will continue to point the finger at them, and we will clean the monument and improve the place, despite the terrorists' anger and wrath.".
Yossi Dagan said: "We view the vandalism of the monument in memory of Rabbi Shevach very seriously. This is a shocking crime that is not just another act of vandalism, but is aimed at undermining the sense of security of the citizens of Samaria and the entire settlement. We expect the security establishment to handle the incident very seriously and with a strong hand, in order to eradicate similar phenomena, and also to work to restore security calm to the area.",
