The unemployment rate fell in July to 6.21% compared to 6.51% in June, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today.
The percentage of unemployed men fell to 6.31% (from 6.61% in June), and the percentage of unemployed women fell to 6.11% (from 6.31% in June). The labor force participation rate among those aged 25–64 fell to 79.11% in July (from 79.51% in June). The participation rate among men aged 25–64 fell to 83.91% (from 84.51% in June), and among women aged 25–64 it fell to 74.41% (from 74.61% in June).
The CBS also reports that the percentage of unemployed people in the labor force among those aged 25–64 fell in July to 5.01% compared to 5.31% in June. Among men aged 25–64, the percentage of unemployed people fell to 5.11% compared to 5.51% in June, and among women aged 25–64, the percentage of unemployed people fell to 4.91% compared to 5.11% in June.
The number of employed people in July was approximately 3.549 million, a decrease of 0.31% compared to June of this year.
An improvement was recorded in the number of employees working full-time (35 hours or more per week). Their number increased by 1.01% compared to June (an increase of approximately 27 thousand employees), while the number of employees working part-time (less than 35 hours per week) decreased by 4.61% compared to June (a decrease of approximately 37 thousand employees).
The percentage of employed people who are usually working full-time out of all employed people rose to 77.8% (compared to 76.8% in June). Among men, this percentage rose to 86.8% (compared to 86.7% in June), and among women, this percentage rose to 67.9% (compared to 66.0% in June).
