During the Corona period, Mayor Moshe Leon initiated a creative project in which city residents were asked to submit creative ideas to keep Jerusalem clean.
The three best ideas won an award that was presented in the presence of the mayor, whose cleaning of the city of Jerusalem, a king's palatine, has been one of his most important priorities since he began his term in office.
As part of the project, the Jerusalem Municipality distributed workbooks to the city's children who were staying at home during the lockdown, which were placed on each family's doorstep. The booklets provided moments of leisure and creativity, and instilled in the children and all members of the household the importance of keeping the city clean.
In the activity booklet sent by the municipality, the children received tasks that would raise awareness of keeping Jerusalem clean, and in the second part they were asked to provide ideas that would help and encourage cleaning Jerusalem.
Thousands of families sent back a wide variety of creative and wonderful ideas.
Mayor Moshe Leon, who asked to personally review the most creative ideas, was amazed by the children's brilliance - and said: "It is clear from these creations that they are the fruit of the wisdom of the children of Jerusalem.".
From the multitude of creations and proposals, three families won a special prize, a gift from the Jerusalem Municipality. They received the prize from the mayor himself, who invited them to his office and received them with joy and warmth. He thanked the winning families for their great effort to protect Jerusalem.
