Tu B'Av is definitely an event that Elior and Leah Ben Baruch are celebrating this year with great enthusiasm, after they became acquainted with Hadassah Hospital during the Corona period.

""When my grandfather, Yehuda, fell ill with the coronavirus, his condition worsened and he was transferred to the coronavirus ward at Hadassah Ein Kerem," says Elior, a police officer serving on the Temple Mount.
""It was the first wave, the fear of infection was great and we couldn't go in and visit Grandpa. We took care of him and were updated every day through the dedicated team that cared for him and heard from them how he was doing. Luckily, my father heard about a relative of an acquaintance from France, who works as an X-ray technician at Hadassah and works hard in the Corona department, to help with the imaging of the patients' lungs.
""We contacted her and asked her to go to her grandfather, to take care of him and be his support. She was ready for the task, that technician with a huge heart, and we didn't know at the time that her willingness would end with joining the family.".
Leah, the X-ray technician, says: "I knew Yehuda the grandfather, who everyone cared about. He was tired and suffering, but was treated with dedication in the ward by the staff who were always around him, and I would go over every time to see how he was doing and give the family updates. I met a lovely man and a very embracing and caring family, for whom the health of the head of the family was very important, and it warmed my heart.".
When the grandfather was released from the hospital, he had to use an oxygen connection at home as well, and the family asked Ma'alah to continue accompanying him as a patient at his home. "The acquaintance with everyone deepened and very quickly the connection with Elior became something else. Our own story.".
Elior: "It was a crazy time, Leah worked all the time in the Corona department at Hadassah and I in my work with the Israel Police in the Jerusalem District, which is on the front lines of the fight against the Corona virus, I carried out enforcement on the Temple Mount, we worked around the clock to stop the Corona virus, hard and intensive work, in order to interrupt the chain of infection, the police acted with determination and I did it out of dedication and belief in what I was doing. I was barely home, but I saw it as a real mission.
""Who would have believed that such a serious and special connection could be formed during this time? Those were crazy days for me. And yet, love apparently conquers all. Even the madness of Corona. Our acquaintance turned into a marriage proposal, and we got married in the third wave in a small, intimate wedding.".
""The most exciting guest, who greeted us under the canopy, was my grandfather, of course. It was a small wedding, but simply larger than life. Leah is pregnant and we are expecting a baby girl who will join us in a few months, and when she grows up we will tell her how mom and dad met thanks to the Corona virus.".
