As reported in Haredim 10, on Saturday night about three weeks ago, a Chabad follower was attacked on a bus by a local anti-Semite, twice within an hour.
According to Rabbi Liberov, the anti-Semite approached him and began shouting at him: "I will cut off your head for Palestine." Later, on the London Underground, another anti-Semite shouted at him that he was different from Jews.
Rabbi Liberov filed a police complaint, but despite the considerable time that has passed, no one has been arrested or questioned. Last night, the police took the first step and published the suspect's photo.
""I felt something was wrong," Rabbi Liberov told Hadashot in an interview 12 hours after the attack. "He was muttering to himself, looking like he needed help. He went to the door, he was next to me, and that escalated. He started cursing me. He came directly to me, threatened to kill me, beat me. At one point he reached out and I blocked him.".
Liberov added: "I tried to keep my cool, but what worries me is that a person like him is walking freely on the streets of London. I have been a victim of similar incidents many times before. It happens everywhere. I think people should protect themselves. When it is possible and it is safe, it is worth saying something and doing something. Again, I think this is just one incident among many. If you can do something about it, do something.".
