On the way to the government? A new offer from the Likud to Yamina Chairman Naftali Bennett includes promises of armor and a series of senior positions in the government and the Knesset - but without rotation. This, after he 'took off the table' the possibility of forming a 'boycott government' with the left-wing and Arab parties.
According to a report by Yaki Adamkar in Walla, the proposal includes the position of defense minister, acting prime minister, additional positions in the government and Knesset for party members, and seven reserve positions in the first 40 positions within Likud - if a government is not formed and midterm elections are held.
According to the report, talks are underway between Likud and Yamina through various sources, and the ambiguity maintained by the Yamina chairman is apparently intended to improve his positions.
Likud refused to comment on the news.
Yamina responded: "As we said from the very beginning, Yamina is interested in forming a government, not in imaginary proposals for a government that does not exist. It has been ten days since Yamina dismissed the government of change, and we are still waiting for the two MKs Netanyahu and Smotrich promised they have.".
The Yesh Atid party led by Yair Lapid announced this afternoon the resumption of negotiations to form what they call an "Israeli unity government.".
Tomorrow morning, the Yesh Atid negotiation team will resume meetings with the teams of the parties that make up the Boycott Bloc. The meetings will be held in Kfar Maccabiah and the party will publish announcements according to the progress in the negotiations.
'"There are ten more days, that's not a lot, and I intend to take advantage of every day. The last few days have shown us more than anything that we need a functioning, unifying government here," Lapid said. "Tomorrow we will open talks again with negotiating teams, we will turn over every stone, we will do everything we can to establish an Israeli unity government that will rise in the morning to work for the entire public.".
For now, Yair Lapid does not intend to renew contacts with Yamina Chairman Naftali Bennett.
It should be noted that, as of today, there is a disconnect between Lapid and Bennett.
