Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Places and member of the "Hachamisha" Committee responsible for the Rashbi's honor, sent out a message this evening (Saturday night) in which he wrote:
It's time to wake up: your dream has a home – and it's about to come true. How?
Free: How much money are you losing because you don't know what your rights are?
The coronavirus outbreak is on the decline, but a mask is still required in closed spaces. Remember?
""Together with the entire House of Israel, in the land and in the Diaspora, we are in pain and sorrow to the point of soul-crushing over the terrible tragedy at the funeral of the holy Tanna Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron. Our hearts go out to the families who lost their loved ones.
I experienced the terrible pain firsthand, and I saw the bereavement with my own eyes on Shabbat Eve, when I came to recognize my dear nephew, Rabbi Menachem Zakbach, who perished in the disaster.
Our prayers and supplications to heaven are offered at this time for a full recovery and complete healing for all the injured, and we are strengthening the medical and rescue forces.
At this difficult time when the victims are being buried, we unite with the hearts and souls of the painful and grieving families. It is not yet time to cry out their silent cry. A cry that was not heard when they begged for their lives. A cry that shocks the entire Jewish world, a cry that no one was able to hear, but we all, in a sense, 'see the voices.'.
"The great grief and immense pain is accompanied by spiritual soul-searching and good receptions, with free love and a union of hearts. With joint forces we will work to mend the broken pieces and draw the necessary conclusions.".
