Singer Nathan Goshen has been in shape for a long time, leading a religious lifestyle and observing the Sabbath. A few years ago, this even caused him to call off his engagement.
But tonight, the 34-year-old creator proposed marriage again: the bride is Liron Albilia, a 21-year-old singer who participated in a reality show, and their relationship began with a matchmaking.
After the previous engagement was canceled, Goshen told Yedioth Ahronoth: "This was the hardest breakup of all. She left on Friday afternoon, and after she left, I sang 'Shalom Aleichem' and 'Eshet Chail' alone and my heart broke. I couldn't explain to myself what happened. After all, Shabbat is the most wonderful thing in the world, so how could I just break up because of Shabbat? Ultimately, there are things I won't take lightly, no matter what.".
Nathan Goshen was born as Matan Goshen in Lod, to Avidan Chaim, a combat officer and former Mossad agent, and Tova Goshen, and grew up in a secular family.
When he was 14 years old, he began a process of self-search and self-examination, which led to his conversion to Judaism. For a period of time, he even left home and traveled to Zion Rashbi, where he secluded himself for three months and used to play the guitar in the mountains. After a period of time, he moved to the Mea Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem, where he became close to Breslav. At that time, following the passing of his father, he changed his name to "Natan", in consultation with rabbis in the community.
