The chairman of the Ra'am party, MK Mansour Abbas, addressed the escalating dispute in the Joint List this morning (Wednesday).

In an interview with Kalman Libeskind and Assaf Lieberman on Channel 2, the MK said: "The Joint List is at an impasse. Let's find a different approach, we will do our utmost to preserve the joint list.".

He added: "We agree with each other on what we want, but we disagree on how to achieve our goals. For years we have tried a certain method that not only excludes us, but we also exclude ourselves. We do not take responsibility for ourselves and do not act vigorously and proactively in politics. We sit on the fence and wait for the day when there will be a revolution in Israeli politics - but that day has not come, Netanyahu does not fall.".

He suggested: "Let's accept the political system as it is and try to find a place for ourselves to open up new options. Let's leave it to the Jewish friends to decide who they want to head the government. We will change the person, not the man.".

According to Abbas, the entire manner of conduct of Ra'am is different from that of the other parties that make up the list. "Going to the elections was the focus of controversy within the list. We thought it was a mistake," Abbas said.

He said, "Some people say that recommending Gantz was a mistake, even Balad apologized to the Arab public for that.".
