The man received the injection at 8:30 in the morning, waited the usual time at the clinic, and was discharged home after feeling well.
Some time later, the man lost consciousness and was later pronounced dead as a result of heart failure.
The Ministry of Health estimates at this stage that there is no connection between the vaccine and the death, but despite the initial assessment, the case is being investigated.
The Ministry of Health stated: "A 75-year-old man from the north of the country, suffering from active heart disease and malignant disease, and who had suffered several heart attacks in the past, was vaccinated against the coronavirus this morning and died at home shortly after the vaccination.
""The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, appointed an investigation committee into the case headed by the head of the Safety and Quality Division at the Ministry of Health.".
The health department added: "We share in the family's grief. Initial examination shows no connection between the unfortunate event and the vaccine, and the vaccination campaign continues.".
Yesterday, nearly 100,000 people were vaccinated in Israel. In total, within a week, about 379,000 people aged 60 and over, risk groups, and medical teams were vaccinated in Israel.
