Lenny Solomon is the undisputed leader of the global "schlock-rock" band. For nearly thirty years, he has been taking familiar melodies and rewriting them with new lyrics full of Jewish values, with the aim of connecting Jewish youth to their roots. Hundreds of songs fill the 35 "schlock-rock" albums - with which he has performed throughout the United States and beyond.
Over two decades ago, the Solomon family made the decision to take their Jewish roots one step further and immigrate to Israel, while Lenny continues to perform with the band. Since then, Lenny has begun releasing more musical albums in the Holy Language; At This Time, Give Us a Sign, Happiness and Wealth, Shabbat in Liverpool – which contained Shabbat prayers and songs set to tunes by the legendary Beatles and was a great success, and the album Derech Haor, which was released a year and a half ago with the aim of increasing free love throughout Israel – the lyrics of which are mainly taken from the chapters of the Apostolic Fathers.
Now, Lenny is releasing a song of encouragement for the people of Israel: "The People of Israel Forever." "People have been asking me to compose songs for the situation for a long time," Lenny says. "The kidnapping of the three boys has been a long time coming; but it was so sad that I simply couldn't write. When the war started, I watched the news for many hours and saw all the morale and positive reinforcement that the people brought to the soldiers, how the soldiers felt and wanted to protect the people of Israel, until at the end the song just burst out," he recalls, and continues, "I was sitting in the military headquarters in Beit Shemesh, after one of the alarms, and I told my daughter to take out a guitar and start playing, and the lyrics just came out of nowhere. I immediately called Jeff Hurwitz, went into the studio, and only came out 24 hours later with the finished result. It's a song of encouragement and support, that we must protect the Land of Israel and the people of Israel who live within it, with the message that the people of Israel will win. That's the whole story.".
