Accident in the Mea Shearim neighborhood: A pedestrian, a 3-year-old boy, was injured in the head this afternoon after being hit by a vehicle in the center of the Mea Shearim market.

The victim is the great-grandson of the Rebbe of the lineage of Avraham Yitzhak, who lives nearby.

The boy was leaving a camp held on Ein Yaakov Street when a vehicle driven by Avrech hit him in the head.

Paramedics and volunteers from the Jerusalem branch of United Hatzalah felt compelled to provide the child with initial medical care. An MDA intensive care unit evacuated him for treatment at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital.

At this stage, his condition is defined as moderate to severe.

The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police.
