Against the backdrop of the continued fighting in Gaza and the ongoing rocket fire on Israeli cities, Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri, along with MKs from the Shas faction, went on a work and reinforcement tour of the southern cities.
The tour began in Kiryat Malachi, where they met with the mayor, along with local Shas representatives, and received a briefing on the city's preparations during the operation. From there, the faction members continued on a tour of the city's shelters. Deri encouraged the residents and called on them to continue to follow the Home Front Command's instructions.
The Knesset members then continued toward the city of Beersheba, where they were received by Mayor Rubik Danilovich, who praised Deri for his words in an interview with Channel 2. Danilovich gave an overview of the city's assessments.
From there, the group went to the site of a missile strike in the house. The Shas chairman said that the State of Israel must not accept terrorism from Gaza, that it must do everything to eradicate the nests of terror, that it is impossible for Israeli citizens to live at a shooting range. The faction members continued to Ofakim and Kiryat Gat and met with the mayors of the cities. Deri spoke with residents and encouraged them to be resilient. "Your steadfast stance radiates to the rest of the country's residents," he said.
