Jewish-Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, an oil tycoon and businessman, one of the richest Russian oligarchs, rented the Beresheet Hotel in Mitzpe Ramon for four nights during Passover.
Abramowitz, who is a close friend of Rabbi Levi Leviev, rented the entire hotel, which has 106 rooms, and the cost of each room per night during Passover is estimated at approximately 3,000 NIS.
The scope of the deal amounts to 1.5 million NIS. A small amount of money for someone who in 2011 was ranked by the business magazine Forbes as the 53rd richest person in the world, with a personal fortune of $12.1 billion. The hotel will be closed these days and will be at the disposal of the Abramovich family and their close friends.
This is not the first time Abramovich has come to the hotel. A month ago, he landed his private jet at the Masada Lounge at Ben Gurion Airport to spend his weekend in Israel in Mitzpe Ramon.
