Singer Lipa Schmelzer, who is currently in Israel, decided to send a special and unusual greeting today (Wednesday) to the ultra-Orthodox Nahal soldiers.
In the video, filmed in Jerusalem, with the Temple Mount in the background, Shmelzer combines rhymes in Hebrew and Yiddish, alongside a segment from his hit "Mizrahi.".
""We will strengthen the country with the wigs," says Schmelzer at the end of the clip - and sends a kiss to the soldiers, who are currently busy suppressing riots in the Jenin and Tulkarm districts.
Schmelzer has had a long-standing relationship with the ultra-Orthodox Nahal. About two years ago, with the release of the hit "Mizrahi," Schmelzer released a music video for the song in which he stars alongside ultra-Orthodox Nahal soldiers dancing with him in the center of "Zion Square" in Jerusalem. The video was filmed in the midst of one of the "enlistment storms," caused a stir, and immediately became a viral hit.
Since its release, the clip has garnered about a million views. The release of the clip was also accompanied by a series of performances before the soldiers.
In about a month, Meltzer is expected to visit Israel again. During his next visit, Meltzer is expected to hold another round of performances for ultra-Orthodox soldiers, in collaboration with the "Ultra-Orthodox Nahal" association.
