In light of the rocket fire on the State of Israel, a meeting was held today (Wednesday) in the Kremlin between the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The meeting was also attended by the Rabbi of Israel Meir Lau, and the Rabbi of Rubia, Rabbi Berel Lazar.

The Rishon LeZion requested the Russian president's assistance in the fight against terrorism. "Honorable President," said the Rishon LeZion. "As someone who serves as Chief Rabbi of Israel and as a spiritual leader, I would like to begin with a blessing in his honor, as Jewish law requires of us. According to this law, the leadership of a head of state is derived from the kingdom of God, the King of the universe, therefore we bless 'Blessed is he who shares his honor in flesh and blood.'.

I would like to further praise the President for his stand on the side of religious freedom in his country, and ask that he continue on this path with greater vigor and courage.

I would like to note that I left Israel this morning when the sounds of rocket explosions were heard in a neighborhood near my home, while my children, grandchildren, and family members experienced moments of anxiety. Despite all this, I left everything and came here to ask the President to act and fight the phenomenon of using terror in the name of religion.

"You fight for religious freedom, but 'religious freedom is not freedom for religion' and for using it to slaughter innocent people. You have the influence to prevent these things, please act on it.".

Rabbi Yosef continued to speak with President Putin, thanking him for releasing the Jewish book treasures of Chabad Hasidism and strengthening him in his fight against anti-Semitism.

President Putin asked Rabbi Yosef to convey a message to Prime Minister Netanyahu that he is a true friend of Israel, and a true friend of his, and that he is closely following and interested in what is happening in Israel, and supports its struggle to preserve the safety of its citizens.

President Putin added that he regrets the murder of the three boys and condemns the murder. Putin said it was "an act that he would not do.".

The meeting was attended by the Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berel Lazar, as well as the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, Shlita, Rabbi of Tel Aviv-Yafo.

At a Hasidic gathering held on the occasion of the 12th of Tammuz, the day of the redemption of the Lubavitcher Rebbe Rayatz from a Russian prison, at the Maina Rocha synagogue in Moscow, the Rishon LeZion spoke. During his remarks, he said that when a Chabad synagogue was established in Jerusalem, his father, zt"l, took them to pray there. "We would finish the Tishrei early, and in the evening, Dad sent us to the Chabad synagogue for a class...""

The Chief Rabbi also said: "How did the Rebbe succeed in instilling devotion among the Hasidim? Apparently his fear of God was special. I asked who started this. I knew that the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak, was the one who started it. They said: The Rebbe before him, the Rashba, started the Shluchim project.

""There is something in common between the Lubavitcher Rebbe and the late Father - both of them have a burning desire to care for others.".
