Festive dessert for the holiday table: Apple cake recipe with mini caramel cookies

Ingredients (for a 24 cm diameter cake):

For the base:

120 grams of high-quality marzipan

1 egg

1 heaped tablespoon butter

1 cup Carmit mini caramel cookie crumbs

To fill:

3 Grand Smith apples, peeled and cut into small cubes

A pinch of cinnamon

2 tablespoons flour

2 teaspoons butter

2 tablespoons honey

 For coating:

2 cups Carmit mini caramel cookie crumbs

2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil or canola oil

 How to prepare:

• In a food processor, grind together all the base ingredients until a uniform puree is obtained.

• Place in a greased pan and bake at medium heat, 180 degrees, for about 4 minutes until a golden crust forms on the surface of the pastry.

• Mix all the filling ingredients well and pour over the base.

• Mix the crumbs with the melted butter or oil and sprinkle the moist crumbs over the apples.

• Return to oven, reduce temperature to 175 degrees. Bake for about 25 minutes until the topping is browned.
