On the eve of Shavuot, musician and composer Naftali Kempa releases a new single from his debut album, which will be released this summer. The single is called "For Our Ancestors" and is one of the 12 tracks that make up the album.
""For Our Fathers" is a song full of emotion, the words of which are so appropriate for these days, the days of receiving the Torah.
""With a blessing of great love, we ask for the Torah, because the Torah is great love, the great love of God for us, for the people of Israel. And let our hearts understand... with love. That we may merit to observe the Torah with great joy and true love," explains Naftali Kempe, adding: "I hope that at every Komzitz or performance, on every stand and before every Ark of the Covenant, you will sing this song, ask for this request, and may I be able to help you love the Torah.".
How was the melody born?
""The melody came from my heart together with the heart of the composer and arranger Eli Klein, who also tastefully arranged the song together with Itzi Berry, both of whom have been good friends of mine for many years.".
About the album itself, he says: "It's an album full of combinations: Hasidic and Komitzy, Israeli and Karelian, exciting and bouncy" - or in short, as defined by a senior industry official: "Naftali Kempe's album.".
