""Rabbi, why do you have to get married, why isn't it enough to change your Facebook status?" - These are questions and other creative ideas that Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky, Chabad emissary and rabbi in Savyon, was asked by brides and grooms he is marrying.
He said, "Our tradition is beautiful, but our job is to make the most convenient ways for brides and grooms to get married according to the Mosaic and Jewish law accessible.".
But how do you register? What is a ketubah? And why do you need a chuppah? To explain, he launched the "Getting Married" video series.
""Unfortunately," says Rabbi Bistritzky, "brides and grooms know nothing and it is the duty of the rabbis to explain, to make these topics accessible to all couples.".
