Exactly 48 hours after submitting his resignation letter to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, MK Yigal Guetta's term as a member of Knesset from the Shas faction ended this morning (Tuesday) at 10:55 AM.
Following the resignation of MK Yigal Guetta, who served as MK for about a year and a half, Deputy Interior Minister Meshulam Nahari is returning to the Knesset.
The Knesset Secretariat announced this morning: "Deputy Minister, Mr. Meshulam Nahari resigned yesterday, Monday, 27 Elul 5777 (18.9.17) at 2:30 PM from his position as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of the Interior and in the Ministry for the Development of the Periphery and the Galilee.".

""His resignation will take effect on September 20, 2017 at 2:30 PM, and from that moment, according to Norwegian law, he will return to serve as a member of the Knesset.".
In the 24 hours between the end of Yigal Guetta's term and Nahari's return as a full-fledged MK, Danny Saida will serve as a member of Knesset - for one day.
Saida is number 14 on the Shas list. Two who preceded him on the list - Rafael Bernaz and Boaz Biton - resigned from the list for this purpose.
Rafael Bernaz, who is residing in Ukraine, submitted a letter of resignation to the Israeli ambassador to Ukraine this morning.
Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Shas movement in Hadera, Boaz Biton, submitted a letter of resignation from the Shas list for the Knesset this morning to the Knesset Secretariat.
The reason that Sayeda was appointed for one day is: The Knesset always has 120 MKs.
As journalist Rina Matzliach reported on Hadashot 2, the man behind MK Yigal Guetta's dismissal from the Knesset, due to his participation in his nephew's wedding, which was held in violation of Halacha, is Rabbi Yaakov Cohen, son of the president of the Shas Council of Elders, Hacham Shalom Cohen. According to the report, Rabbi Yaakov Cohen is working against the leadership of Aryeh Deri and is interested in removing Deri from Shas - and taking over the party.
It should be noted that Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri refrained from intervening in the crisis that led to Guetta's dismissal, and at no point did he call on him to retract his resignation.
