Torah scroll burned: Rosh HaAyin resident arrested on suspicion of setting fire to synagogue

A 35-year-old resident of Rosh HaAyin was arrested this week on suspicion of setting fire to a synagogue on HaNevi'im Street in the city about a month and a half ago. The synagogue suffered heavy damage.

תושב ראש העין בן 35 נעצר בחשד שהצית שריפה בבית כנסת ברחוב הנביאים בעיר. נזק כבד נגרם לבית הכנסת וכן נשרף ספר תורה. החקירה נפתחה לאחר שלפני כחודש וחצי התקבל דיווח על אירוע שריפה בבית כנסת בראש העין. שוטרים שהגיעו למקום פתחו בחקירה בחשד להצתה. עם התקדמות החקירה נעצר לפני יומיים חשוד, ומעצרו הוארך. החשוד יובא היום לבית המשפט בשנית, כדי להאריך את מעצרו.
