The presidential elections have seen many upheavals - and today (Tuesday) it turns out that even the permission to take vows was mobilized in favor of the president-elect's victory: According to a report by Amit Segal on Channel 2, MK Yaakov Margi of Shas, who had been promoting the candidacy of former Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik for weeks, signed her candidacy form and also vowed that if she did not advance to the second round, he would vote for the candidate she proposed.
But Margi, it turns out, underwent a vow-breaking ceremony between the first and second rounds of voting, and is believed to have voted for Rivlin, who won the election.
According to Segal, this is not just a breaking of a vow but a change in political position, after Margie told his associates in private conversations that he would not vote for Rivlin.
