Violinist Oren Tzur has played with the best singers in the country. He has played with Amir Benayoun, Eti Ankari, Erez Lev Ari, Ovadia Hamma, Avraham Tal, Carolina, Berry Sakharof, Giraffes, Eviatar Banai, David D'Or, Kobi Aflalo, the successful Halev Ve Ma'ayan band, and many more - and has become one of the most prominent teshuvah artists.
About four years ago, Oren, along with some exceptionally talented friends, released the brilliant album "The Movement for the Liberation of the Unnecessary," under the title "The Great Bargain Band." The album received much praise, especially among music professionals, who admired the album's special arrangements, which combined different styles of music in a unique and artistic way.
About a year ago, he began working on his debut album as a songwriter/singer/guitarist with musician Shahar Kaufman at Shoham Studios in Rosh Pina.
These days, the first poem from it is being published, called Returning Light.
The lyrics attempt to paint an experience of a person trying to continue choosing goodness even when inspiration has disappeared and what remains is only the memory of goodness and coping. The musical style corresponds with English and American folk from the 70s and also a lot of good old Eretz Israel and is based on Oren's acoustic playing with subtle and sweeping groovy arrangements.
""This melody has accompanied me for many years, since the age of 22 from the room on the kibbutz. For years I played it with English lyrics and only a few years ago did the song reach what it is today," recalls Oren. The album Personal Space is expected to be released sometime in the coming months.
The surprising new song reveals that Oren is not only a great violinist, but also an excellent guitarist and a singer with a pleasant and soothing voice.
