Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah delivered a special speech this evening (Monday) after the funeral of Samir Kuntar, who was buried in the Dahya neighborhood in southern Beirut. In the speech, which was broadcast on the organization's Al-Manar channel, he clearly accused Israel of eliminating the leader of the terrorists.
In his speech, the Hezbollah Secretary-General, who spoke on giant screens, threatened that his organization would respond: "Hezbollah will respond to the assassination in Kuntar at the appropriate time and place. We will do so.".
Nasrallah stated: ""We have no doubt that it was the Israeli enemy who assassinated Samir Kuntar, when they launched precise missiles at the apartment where Kuntar was with Kharim. It is unclear whether Israeli planes entered Syrian airspace, or whether they launched the missiles over the occupied Golan.".
Nasrallah confirmed the reports that Kuntar planned to carry out attacks against Israel: "Samir Kuntar wanted to harm Israel in every way and stirred up popular resistance. His life was dedicated to the Palestinian people, its prisoners, and the resistance to Israel from the first moment he was released. "Kuntar was one of us, and Hezbollah will respond to his killing. Samir Kuntar's blood proves that the flag of the liberation of the land does not fall, but is passed from shoulder to shoulder and generation to generation.".
Ammar Mousavi, who is responsible for foreign relations in Hezbollah, said at the funeral: "The Israeli enemy will regret the assassination of Samir Kuntar.".
In the evening, Kuntar's will was published, in which he said: "From the moment I chose the path of struggle and jihad, with the aim of ending injustice in Palestine, I understood that the end of the path would be victory or martyrdom. I have no doubt that the path of jihad will not end. I thank Hassan Nasrallah from the bottom of my heart for accompanying me from my release from prison until the moment of my death. There is no one as wise and courageous as Nasrallah.".
