MK Nava Boker of the Likud published a post yesterday morning against the proposal of the opposition chairman, Yitzhak Herzog, to accept refugees from Syria in Israel and published his home phone number.

""Dear Syrian refugee," she wrote, "upon your arrival in Israel, please contact MK Yitzhak Herzog at 02-6408533 for accommodation arrangements. You will be transferred to a comfortable home in the Tzahala neighborhood of Tel Aviv.".

In response, labor activists published her personal cell phone number - and she was inundated with hateful messages and harassment.

MK Boker wrote about this this morning on her Facebook page:

""Yesterday I published a post with a hint of sarcasm about Bouzi's call to invite Syrian refugees to Israel. In the post I published the office number of MK Herzog. This is an official phone number for the office, a number that can of course be easily found on the Knesset website by virtue of being an official line open to public inquiries.

""In response, activists from the Labor Party published my private cell phone number, which led to a flood of terrible curses, rude phone calls, and harassment.

""The bullying of the leftists is 'surprising' considering the fact that their spiritual leaders scornfully mocked the Likud voters that we are 'a herd of animals,' 'coming out of holes,' and all the other superlatives.".

""...Boji's statement calling on Israel to admit refugees, without examining the implications of this proposal - security, demographic and other implications - is irresponsible populism. Therefore, it is not surprising that this populism led the remaining supporters of the left-wing parties' policy to flood my personal number (and not a number in the office, as I advertised) with an abundance of angry and violent text messages and phone calls.".
