Security officials authorized publication today (Wednesday) that part of an Iranian missile hit the Ramat David Air Force base on Sunday evening.
The Air Force is still investigating the circumstances of the incident and believes it was an interception failure.
The attack was in a non-operational area of the base, where forklifts and technical equipment are stored, but no damage was caused to the equipment - and there were no casualties in the incident.
On Monday, a satellite photo was taken of the base that raised questions about the possibility of the compound being hit during the missile barrage launched by Iran toward Israel the day before yesterday.
Compared to previous satellite images of the same area of the base, it can be seen that a dark spot now appears where the hangar once stood. According to estimates, this finding may indicate a possible attack on the site.
