During an enforcement activity by the National Traffic Police, near midnight (Monday) on Highway 3, the unit's police officers carried out enforcement against life-threatening traffic violations, including speeding offenses.
During the shift, the police officer measured a driver of a car in the MMLZ at an excessive speed of 216 km/h!
The police officer arrested the driver, a 22-year-old from Jerusalem, and brought him to the police station for questioning before traffic inspectors.

At the end of the investigation, the driver was released under restrictive conditions, including 5 days of house arrest.
The vehicle was impounded and a request for its confiscation will be considered as part of the legal proceedings against the driver. The driver's license was revoked for 30 days.
""Excessive speeding not only increases the chance of an accident, but also the severity of the injury. The higher the speed, the smaller the chance of getting out of the accident unscathed. The goal is not to get there faster, but to get home safely...", say the police.
