Network star Maya Wertheimer said today (Monday) that her brother, Assaf Talmor Wertheimer, was injured during reserve service in southern Lebanon by an explosive drone strike.
In a story she posted on her Instagram account, Wertheimer said that she received the news while filming.
""Yesterday was a very complicated day. In the evening when I was filming, I asked my mother if everything was okay, and she answered me: 'We'll talk about it when you're done.' That's really uncharacteristic of her, so I called and she sounded upset.".
According to her, her brother was involved in an incident in which fighters were injured in Lebanon.
""Aspi, my older brother, who serves in the reserves and is in Lebanon, was injured. His friends were involved in the drone incident, including Sergeant Michael Tyukin, a Givati patrol fighter who fell in Lebanon after being hit by an explosive drone. They left Lebanon and on the way there he was apparently injured.".
Wertheimer said the family was updated after her brother was released from the hospital. "He only spoke to my mother when he got out of the hospital, and everything is fine now.".
She added: "You have to say retribution. It was a slap in the face. Everything suddenly seemed so meaningless. Yesterday I realized how much in a split second the world can simply collapse on you, and how much we take the simplest things for granted. I hope we don't take anything for granted, that we recognize the good.".
In another story, she sought to reassure followers: "Thanks for your concern, Espy is fine. It's important for me to clarify, it was just a scary moment yesterday.".
""He's already home, and as usual he took it less dramatically than me or Mom, who was heartbroken. Everything is fine.".
