The Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs approved today (Sunday) the bill by MK Eliyahu Revivo of the Likud to establish a state center to commemorate the memory and legacy of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.

This is a precedent-setting move, in which the State of Israel will for the first time grant regulated state recognition to the legacy of Rabbi Nachman.

According to the bill, a dedicated center will be established that will work to preserve, document, research, and pass on the legacy of Rabbi Nachman to future generations, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and under public supervision.

The initiator of the proposal, MK Eliyahu Revivo: "Rabbi Nachman of Breslov is not only a historical figure, but a living source of faith, hope and inspiration for hundreds of thousands in Israel and around the world. The establishment of the center is a recognition of a legacy that continues to influence Israeli society and the entire Jewish people today. For me personally, Rabbi Nachman is a source of inspiration that accompanies me every day in my public work and mission for the people of Israel.""

Since entering the Knesset, MK Revivo has been working to promote a variety of issues related to Breslov Hasidism, particularly around the state's preparations for the mass trip to Uman on Rosh Hashanah, a trip in which he himself participates every year.

Within this framework, he promotes coordination with government ministries and international entities to regulate departure from Israel, absorption in destination countries, and the removal of logistical and security barriers for the traveling public.
