Disturbing footage released by Hezbollah on Monday afternoon shows the first use of an explosive FPV drone equipped with a thermal camera - evidence that the organization is capable of carrying out attacks against IDF forces even at night.
This evening (Monday), it was revealed on Kan News that the footage was taken from an incident that occurred on Saturday night at 9:40 PM in the area of the village of Ras al-Bayda, in the western sector of southern Lebanon, during which two fighters were moderately and lightly injured.
Until now, Hezbollah has only used explosive drones during the day, and the IDF has adjusted the hours of operation to the hours of darkness, even though it was clear that it was a matter of time. Now it appears that Hezbollah has introduced a new means into the campaign.
In the past 24 hours, the organization's mouthpiece, the Lebanese Al-Manar channel, published fake footage of a drone with a thermal camera.
The footage was taken from a forest fire in the United States about six years ago - and the IDF said that no evidence has yet been found of Hezbollah's use of drones at night.
Now, after the new documentation was published, it is clear that the IDF was not prepared for the new threat and did not know that the organization was using drones in the dark.
