At a Shavuot celebration at the Ohel Torah Yeshiva: Rabbi Shmuel Bezalel, head of the Porat Yosef yeshiva and a member of Shas' Council of Torah scholars, devoted a large portion of his remarks to tensions between the ultra-Orthodox public and the legal system - and harshly attacked the judges.

""The lawyers are vile people who persecute the holy children of the Torah with all kinds of decrees," said the head of the yeshiva.
According to a Channel 7 report, Rabbi Bezalel said: "You all know that today the world of Torah is being persecuted. The legal system and lawyers are people of no account.".
The yeshiva head recounted a conversation with a senior army officer, during which he claimed that yeshiva students are "the real burden bearers.".
""You claim that a yeshiva student should bear the burden. Why does a student sit and study? Why would I, with what dedication, give up this entire world, sit and meditate on Torah day and night? For the sake of the people of Israel.".
Continuing his remarks, the rabbi referred to the miracles that occurred during the war with Iran, and claimed: "Only the world of the Torah is what sustains the people of Israel and protects them from millions of tons of explosives. The people of Israel emerged almost unscathed, and this is only thanks to the people of the Torah.".
The yeshiva head called on the students to strengthen their study: "Apparently all these decrees came so that we would strengthen ourselves and become more dedicated to studying Torah.".
