In a joint statement from the police and the General Security Service spokespeople, it was stated that on March 21st, at noon, after settlers entered the village of Beit Umarin, Hasson drove toward them in a pickup truck he owned.

When the defendant noticed three Israelis driving through the village at the time, he decided to hit them when they slowed down.

After following them for a short time, the defendant intentionally hit the Ranger, in which the three were traveling at the time. As a result, the Ranger slid into the valley and Yehuda Sherman, the driver, was pronounced dead nearby.

Police forces from the Sha'i District, forensic investigators and traffic accident examiners, along with the IDF and Shin Bet, were called to the scene and began collecting findings and evidence.

As part of the investigation, the suspect in the act, Duas Hasson, a resident of Beit Omrin in his 50s, was arrested by the police and his detention was extended from time to time in court.

Upon completion of his interrogation, a prosecutor's statement was submitted regarding the intention to file an indictment against him in the coming days by the Military Prosecutor's Office.

Additionally, during the investigation, his son was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident, and during a search of his home, a "Carlo" type weapon and a hunting rifle were seized.

Therefore, an indictment is expected against him in the coming days.
