The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported this morning that Khalil al-Hayya was elected leader of Hamas in Gaza, Zaher Jabarin as leader of the terrorist organization in the West Bank, and Khaled Meshaal as senior Hamas official abroad - in other words, positions they already hold.
The elections held in the districts are a preliminary stage for the election of the head of Hamas' political bureau - the race was narrowed down to two candidates: Khalil al-Hayya and Khaled Mashaal.
