The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection inform the traveling public and regional and local councils of unusual results in water sampling carried out to examine the pollution status in streams in the north. Bacterial tests in samples taken on April 26, 2026, found results in several streams in the north that deviate from the Ministry of Health recommendations (400 fecal coliforms in 100 ml) and indicate the presence of water pollution.

In light of these results, entering these streams may be dangerous until the sampling results obtained are normal and stable:

1. Nahal Ayun - entrance from Lebanon.

2. Hatzbani - Roman bridge and river junction promenade.

3. Jordan - from Joseph Bridge to Dudot Bridge.

4. The Hexagonal Pool.

5. Gilbon.

6. Zachary.

7. From Jersey.

8. Tzalmon – The Flour Mill.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection has not found a known source of pollution in the streams.

Routine sampling is done once every two weeks by inspectors from the Nature and Parks Authority, at fixed sampling points in the northern streams (in the Upper Galilee, the Golan Heights and the Western Galilee). The points represent a waterfall, a pool or a section of the stream. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection continue sampling and monitoring and will update as necessary.
